Can a City prefer local companies in the procurement process?
Yes, if you think more about impact/values and less about geography,” says Sandra Hamilton,  former Business Manager to John Furlong, CEO of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Sandra Hamilton is passionate about creating healthy local economies on Vancouver Island, and sees Social Procurement as an important tool for leveraging tax dollars to achieve improved social outcomes.

Sandra Hamilton is a Social innovator, strategist and business leader, who sees Social Enterprise as an effective new approach to community economic development; particularly for smaller, rural communities, like Ladysmith.  Three years ago, she was instrumental in creating Canada’s very first SocialMBA, and she is about to become the first person in Canada to graduate with an Executive MBA in Social Enterprise Leadership.
Join us at 7.30am on  April 29th, 2015, at the Ladysmith Seniors Centre,  to explore how  Ladysmith could become a Social Enterprise leader in Canada.
