LADYSMITH RESOURCE CENTRE ASSOCIATION:  Ladysmith Resources Centre Association, Seniors Office is hosting an information session.  ADVANCED CARE PLANNING – Thursday April 16/15 from 1:30 – 3:30 PM at the Ladysmith Eagles Hall. It’s time to take our heads out of the sand and talk about our end of life wishes. Come and join our information session.  To register call Barb at 250-245-3079. Everyone Welcome.
Also, On April 24th the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association will be hosting a Mothers’ Mental Health Toolkit training event.  This half-day training will introduce you to the Mother’s Mental Health Toolkit, developed as part of the Public Health Agency of Canada’s National Projects Fund. This toolkit was developed to equip front-line service providers working with women in their childbearing years and their families, with a means to monitor mental health and work towards mental wellness. The toolkit has been designed with a progression from wellness to illness, making it applicable to women of any age and cultural background. This workshop is for those working in facilitated group settings, early childhood programs, public health, family support services, free-play environments and for those interested in supporting, maintaining and improving mental wellness in themselves and others.  This training provides hands-on experience in the practical application of the tools in group and individual scenarios.  Event details and tickets can be found at https://mothers-mental-health-toolkit.eventbrite.ca

The Ladysmith Resources Centre Association is looking for a Treasurer.  The LRCA Executive Committee is reaching out to members of the Ladysmith Community to recruit a qualified person to fill the position of LRCA Board Treasurer. This volunteer position plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the Association, and in overseeing its financial management.

Duties include:
* Serving on the LRCA’s Board as well as the Board’s Executive Committee.
* Overseeing the preparation of the annual budget.
* Keeping financial records, including books of account, that comply with the BC Society Act.
* Ensuring all Board financial policies are followed.
* Reporting monthly to the Board on the financial health of the Association.
* Reviewing the monthly financial reports prepared by Staff.
* Working, in conjunction with the Executive Director, to ensure independent statements are prepared following the fiscal year end.
* Preparing, in conjunction with the controller/bookkeeper, a Treasurer’s report and financial statement to be presented at the Annual General Meeting.
* Insuring financial records are kept in a manner that allows a smooth transition to occur, at a point in the future, to a succeeding Treasurer.
