Ladysmith Festival of Lights Notice Concerning 2021 Lightup

The Festival of Lights has determined that, due to risks relating to the ongoing Covid pandemic, lightup activities scheduled for Thursday November 25, 2021 will be cancelled.  There will be no formal lightup events for 2021.

This decision to cancel lightup for this year has been made with a view towards our responsibilities to this community.    Potentially, the health of our members, various service groups, the many volunteers and our community could be placed at risk by staging a large public gathering.  Festival of Lights determined that cancellation of these festivities was the only responsible option under these circumstances.

As usual, lights and rooftop decorations will be placed during October and November.  The lights will be turned on in November for the enjoyment of the public.

Our usual public set up day scheduled for the first Sunday in November has also been cancelled.  Any member of the community willing to assist with set up may, in small groups, be scheduled to assist by contacting Alex Cook at 250-245-5334 or Greg Edwards at 250-924-6970.
