On Thursday, February 18th from 4:30 pm to 5:30pm the Ladysmith Chamber will hosted our first-ever Virtual Happy Hour/Networking Chamber Week Event.
The conversation was lively and fun and was enjoyed by all. The session was scheduled for 1 hour but because the event was so engaging everyone stayed for an extra half hour. The group was small which was a blessing in disguise as we learned a few things about virtual networking.
One of the key things we discovered was that networking is difficult if you have much more than 6 or 7 people in a session. Some ideas that were discussed for future virtual networking sessions included having breakout rooms where a portion of the session can be set up in a “speed networking” fashion and another portion can be set up in themed discussion groups. Having a guest speaker or business sponsors/presenters was also suggested.
All agreed that we should try it again soon. And we will. Stay tuned…
