Telephone scammers posing as BC Chamber of Commerce employees continue to contact businesses across British Columbia, but especially in the lower mainland, in an attempt to obtain private company information.
BC Chamber initially warned Members of the scam in early September. Since then,
there has been an escalation in calls to businesses. According to reports, the fraudulent calls come from people with an accent, asking if the company is moving offices, they also
ask for a staff directory and further company information. If you receive such a call,
do not disclose any information to the caller; hang up immediately.
If you are unsure of whether a call is legitimate, please contact our office to verify.
