Our third Roundtable Meeting in as many months is scheduled for this Wednesday, March 25th from 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Ladysmith Little Theatre (located at 4985 Christie Road). The meeting will once again be facilitated by George Hanson and the focus of the meeting will be on economic and business development and how the Chamber can set goals and direct resources to affect positive change in the community.
This meeting is building on discussion from the last Roundtable meeting where business and economic development were the focal points, with recommendations ranging from creating a business recruitment strategy to working with Town Council to develop a “can do,” friendly approach to business development and support. More support and resources for small business were seen as priorities too.
We asked for your feedback, and the results were helpful and practical — not to mention plentiful. In fact, the members who attended had enough suggestions to fill a couple of pages with notes! (You’ll find the minutes of the meeting here.)
Participants called for a coordinated implementation strategy for economic development. As a first step in coming up with a plan, members in attendance agreed to review previously-produced Economic Development Reports, provide a brief synopsis, and be prepared to speak to these reports at the upcoming Roundtable Meeting. Some of these brief reports are available on our website and you can access them in advance of the meeting here. Check back periodically as new reports may be added as they are received.
Please join us this Wednesday for this very important meeting. It’ll be a very productive use of your time, and all of our businesses, our Chamber, and our community will benefit. RSVP by Wednesday at 3pm. 250-245-2112.
