Lanterns of Extinction

“Lanterns of Extinction” is a community wide lantern parade/procession taking place Nov 1st 2025 from approx 5:30- 8:00 pm. It is open to all members of the public. Participants will arrive at Transfer Beach at approx 5:30 with an LED-tealight lantern or small-scale eco-lantern puppet they have created at one of the prior community art jams offered in tandem to this event. A group of local artists will also be contributing some large-scale lantern puppets. The procession will begin between 6 and 6:30 and do an approx 40 min loop of Transfers natural areas, starting/ending at the Kinsmen shelter, with occasional pauses for sharing of songs/poems/prayers. There will be no need for road closures/restrictions as the procession will be small in scale and not be competing with other events during this evening slot.
