Cowichan Sport Tourism Guide is Here!

This attractive 32 page booklet is filled with information that promotes the Cowichan Region as a sports destination, including descriptions and contact information for more than 20 sports facilities.

It is a valuable addition to hosting packages and bid proposals. Events rights holders will find it helpful when scouting for a location to hold a sports event. Spectators and participants will use it to find facilities, attractions and activities throughout the region.

The Sport Tourism Guide is widely available at sports and recreation facilities, community offices, and Visitor Centres around the region. It can be ordered from the CVRD by calling 250-510-0649, or emailing

Other features of the Sport Tourism initiative include:

Website: In-depth detail and specifications regarding the region’s sport venues, as well as contact information for more than 100 organizations. Several searchable databases provide links to resources, community attractions, amenities and services.
Calendar: Organizers can promote sport events by submitting information, via a simple online form, to be included in the regional sports calendar. Sports enthusiasts can subscribe to the calendar and receive notifications of upcoming events.

Sport Event Equipment Loans: Sport event equipment and supplies are available for use by sport organizations for events that attract athletes, teams and/or spectators to the Cowichan region.  Equipment includes tents, tables, chairs, race clocks, sound systems and more.
