Mini-World Cup 2018 Soccer Tournament

The Mini-World Cup is an annual Vancouver Island soccer tournament for players 7-10 years old from the Island, the Lower Mainland, and across BC. The host community changes every year – and this year, it’s Ladysmith’s turn!

Each team in the tournament represents a specific country, and the highlight of the weekend is the “Parade of Nations” where the kids show off their creativity with costumes, flags and team cheers!

In addition to the actual soccer games, there will be camping at Transfer Beach, as well as food trucks and other vendors at game venues. We’re also planning a pool party, a spaghetti dinner, and a pancake breakfast – and of course, we haven’t forgotten the Fun Zone bouncy castles that were so popular last time around!

When we hosted this tournament in 2012, we had over 1,000 players (and their families) visit our town – and we expect the same in 2018! It’s a wonderful opportunity to show your support for youth sports, and to welcome our guests to this wonderful community!

Generally at this event, sponsors and local businesses will provide coupons or special offers for their goods or services. Each team participating in the tournament will receive a “goody bag” when they sign in, with a tourney schedule, a map to the fields, and these coupons and special offers.
