Ladysmith Gallery Guest Artist Show: King Richard Brodeur
The Ladysmith Gallery is proud to welcome Richard Brodeur, affectionately known as King Richard, for a special Guest Artist Show that bridges the worlds of elite sport, creativity, and personal resilience.
From April 24 to May 3, visitors are invited to experience a powerful collection of original works created by the former NHL goaltender whose career was defined by intensity, focus, and pressure—and whose art reflects introspection, healing, and forward motion. Brodeur’s paintings explore movement, memory, and the emotional landscape of high-performance lives, offering insight into how creativity can become a vital coping path during and after demanding careers.
Two live painting sessions will anchor the exhibition:
- First Saturday of the show, April 25th, 2026
- The following Wednesday, April 29th, 2026
On these days, guests can witness Brodeur painting in real time, engaging directly with the process as stories, sport, and self-expression converge on the canvas.
This exhibition warmly invites hockey enthusiasts, sports fans, and collectors, as well as anyone curious about life after high-intensity careers—athletes, first responders, veterans, executives, and creatives alike. Whether you come for the love of the game, the art, or the deeper conversation about resilience and reinvention, this show offers a rare and human experience.
All are welcome to step inside, slow down, and discover how art can become a powerful ally in navigating life beyond the pressure zone.
