Subject: Celebrate the National Day for Reconciliation – Join the BC Chamber Online
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day for Canadians to commemorate the history and legacy of the residential school system. It’s a day to honour the resilience, dignity and strength of survivors and remember the children who never came home. It’s a chance to engage and educate people about B.C.’s colonial history and how it has and continues to impact Indigenous communities.
This year’s theme, “Walking Together: Shared Responsibility on the Path to Reconciliation”, highlights the ongoing journey we all share in building respectful, equitable relationships with Indigenous Peoples. Join us for a powerful session that invites reflection, dialogue, and action, deepening our understanding of truth and strengthening our
collective commitment to reconciliation in our communities and workplaces.
In this spirit, we are excited to invite you to the virtual event, “Embracing Truth: Honouring the National Day for Reconciliation,” with guest speaker Chief David Jimmie of Squiala First Nation. Hosted by the BC Chamber of Commerce, this event is a step towards fostering understanding, collaboration, and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in British Columbia.
