We will ‘tear’ down the large paper into a usable page size and sew the cover and pages together using a french lace sewing style. The book\, measuring 5” wide by 6 1/2” tall\, is sturdy yet flexible\, colourful and most rewarding to fill. A decorative button or charm can be attached to the front cover.

Come away with three notebooks and an accordion book\, each completed in a decorative way. This session serves as a great introduction to bookbinding but is not required before taking the other sessions.\n\nSeptember 27: Coptic Stitched Journal \n\nThe coptic stitched journal will be constructed from book boards covered with beautiful decorative paper and a book block with 128 pages of heavier text weight paper. We will sew the book together using waxed linen thread and the historical coptic and kettle stitching\, which are both beautiful and very strong.\n\nOctober 4: Artistic Journal \n\nThis colourful 64-page journal is an enjoyable\, straight-forward project to make. The covers are a heavy\, but foldable\, paper\, and the inside pages are made from a large piece of light watercolour paper (Arches Text Wove) that will be already decorated on both sides with a colourful watercolour wash.

SUMMARY:'Kiss the Moon\, Kiss the Sun' Production | Ladysmith Little Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Kiss the Moon\, Kiss the Sun\nWritten by Norm Foster\nDirected by Josee Duffhues\n  \nOct 12 – 29\, 2023\n  \n“Every life is challenged and that’s certainly the case in Kiss the Moon\, Kiss the Sun.”\nRobert\, a 35-year old man with the mental capacity of a child\, meets Holly\, in crisis\, pregnant and alone. These two form a surprising bond\, and the eventual result is an unexpected family. Yes\, life is messy and chaotic and funny and beautiful and more than a little terrifying. So much happens by chance\, sometimes at a bus stop. \nWritten by the prolific Norm Foster\, one of Canada’s most performed playwrights\, we encounter a story layered with relevance and meaning for everyone. A perfect blend of drama and comedy\, it’s a universal story about relationships born of hardship. We find ourselves connecting to characters surprised to discover that they have the strength and nerve to take responsibility for each other and persevere against truly difficult odds. And we’re reminded that sometimes goodbye is just a new beginning. \nTickets available August 1\, 2023
