SUMMARY:Painting The Grandkids with David Goatley
DESCRIPTION:Painting The Grandkids with David Goatley\nSaturday and Sunday\, January 28 and 29\, 10 AM to 4 PM\nLadysmith Waterfront Gallery\, 444 Parkhill Terrace\, Ladysmith BC\nLearn how to paint a portrait of your grandchild\, child\, niece\, or nephew from internationally-renowned portrait artist David Goatley.\nPainting children has its own unique challenges. The proportions of the face alter considerably from babyhood to teens\, and their delicate beauty can be tough to capture. David created this new workshop specifically for those many folks he’s encountered in his 30 plus years of teaching portraiture who have wanted to depict their own children or grandchildren.\nStudents will bring a selection of 8×10 photographs of their grandchild\, niece\, nephew\, or child that they would like to paint\, and David will show them how to approach working from these images to create a painting to be proud of.\nAbout David Goatley: David is considered one of North America’s foremost portrait painters. He has been awarded Signature Member status by the Portrait Society of America and the Federation of Canadian Artists. With over 420 commissions thus far\, across Canada\, the UK and 24 states of the USA as well as in Israel\, Panama\, Spain and India. His subjects have included Princes\, a Peer\, a Prime Minister\, Provincial Premiers\, five Lt. Governors\, First Nations Chiefs and Elders\, a Bishop and leaders in Business\, Academia\, the Arts and the Law as well as numerous families. His work is included in 2 Royal Collections as well as the collections of governments\, museums\, corporations\, institutions and in hundreds of private homes.\nSupplies list on website — need assistance with getting supplies? Email education@ladysmitharts.ca to see how we can help you.\n$286
