SUMMARY:August Theatre Camp for Kids and Youth
DESCRIPTION:A theatre camp for kids who are outgoing and love to play and those who might need a little nudge to come out of their shell with the support and kindness of their peers and teachers. Professional actor Tamara McCarthy and teacher Michala Bloomfield will be introducing children to the various aspects of the performing arts. From learning improvisation and script work to drama games and activities for team building and performance techniques\, children will work to create a short performance to be shown on the last day of camp. Camp starts August 8 at the Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery. Two age groups available.Parents will need to fill out a emergency contact form prior to the camp which can be found on the page where they register \nChildren that may be shy are encouraged to join this camp as it is a nice way to get them slowly involved with the activities and adjust to making friends.

We’re so excited to invite you to another year of Festival Afloat!\nOn Tuesday\, July 12th\, RAVEN & SCOUT presents Festival Afloat Salish Sea Tour in the waters just off Ladysmith at Transfer Park. Paddlers will again surround the Providence\, a gorgeous wooden sailing ship that will serve as the ‘stage’ for the evening’s performance.\nAward-nominated Xaayda (Haida) singer-songwriter\, sound-creator\, loop poet\, philosopher and interdisciplinary artist Vira ‘Ms.PAN!K’ Danyk creates soul-full acoustic melodies\, experimental soundscapes\, indie-Indigenous Hip Hop Soul & improvised live PA. Ms. Pan!k now calls Tofino and the ancestral lands of the Tla-o-qui-aht Nation home base.\nThis year’s concerts are in support of Heiltsuk and Gitxaala Nation’s legal challenges.
