Art Lindala started making wine in the early 1980’s, trying out various home wine-making kits (to the immense enjoyment of his family and friends). Those early experiments eventually blossomed into his first “Garage Winery” on Vancouver Island, at his Nanaimo home in 1993. His passion, and his business, has been growing ever since, to its current incarnation as a state-of-the Art Micro-Winery.
In 2010, Art (and his rapidly growing collection of awards) relocated to Ladysmith in search of larger premises and a more central location so he could service Nanaimo to the north and both Chemainus and Duncan to the south. That first Ladysmith location, beside the Library, soon became another example of Art’s business outgrowing its location. In 2011, Art purchased the operation’s current location on Rocky Creek Road, where’s he’s been ever since.
