Starting August 14th, 2009 the Trolley stops steps away from the Marina and will take you into downtown Ladysmith.  Ladysmith is a good place to stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables too.  Visit the 49th Parallel grocery store at the bottom of the hill by the traffic circle.  The 49th Parallel will deliver you and your order back to the Marina at no charge!  You’ll find a wine and beer store beside the 49th Parallel grocery store.  Across the street from the grocery store are Tim Horton’s and the nearby Home Hardware Store.  Up in town, boaters can enjoy the first-rate coffee shops and restaurants our town has to offer, pick up gifts, fresh meat or fish from the butcher, items from the drugstore or enjoy a free game of street chess by the bakery.  And, if you are early enough, you can enjoy one of Old Town Bakery’s famous and sinfully delicious cinnamon buns along with a great cup of coffee.  If supper is on your mind, we have several excellent restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the Marina.

Our visiting boaters, some as far away as California and Florida, have enjoyed their stay with us and have commented:

“Great Place – we love Ladysmith”

“Loved it”

“Thank you – Enjoyed the museum, friends and atmosphere”

LMS is please to offer many activities for the benefit of local community and visitors alike.  We welcome the community to the docks to experience the beautiful summer on the waterfront and experience “Heritage by the Sea”.  Come and enjoy a two-hour harbour tour, visit the award-winning floating museum, observe and photograph wildlife (like the Purple Martins) or use our public BBQs and covered picnic tables located on the docks.  Life jackets are provided for the safety of your children.
