Town of Ladysmith
Ladysmith is located on southern Vancouver Island, on Canada’s west coast, in the Province of British Columbia. Located literally on the 49th parallel, Ladysmith is 26 km (16 miles) south of Nanaimo and 85 km (53 miles) north of Victoria on Highway #1.
This picturesque town sits on the hillside with a beautiful forests backdrop, overlooking Ladysmith Harbour. Founded at the turn of the century, the Town is one of the oldest communities on Vancouver Island. With a population of over 8,500, Ladysmith still retains a genuine small-town atmosphere. Ladysmith is easily accessible by land and air making it convenient for tourist, and also an excellent home for city commuters from Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo. Big city conveniences close-by, desirable weather, amenities, recreational venues and the overall beauty of the Town have made Ladysmith a sought-after place to live, work and play.
